This is a project a friend of mine did in New York (she's the dancer, I don't know the choreographer or composer). It's interesting because similar to our project, it sonifies space. I also think it is interesting to hear a different sound palette--I like the richness and depth to what you are working with compared to how minimal this score is. It is also interesting to see the ballet vocabulary in conversation with an interactive system and sound score--my work tends to be less formal, more organic.
The sound (and I am guessing the dance) seems to be out of the 70's. There is a tightness of production that I like here, but the language seems out of date.
ReplyDeleteOrganic... so important! But this also makes me realize that we must place the piece in a particular visual, movement and sonic aesthetic.
